A concussion injury is a traumatic brain injury caused by a bump, blow, or blunt force to the brain. This can be caused by falls as well as vehicle accidents.
The concussion injury can led to physical, mental, and emotional problems and can also affect sleep patterns. While most people with a concussion injury display the signs early on, some symptoms can occur months later, confusing family members and health workers. This delay of signs occurs when more demands are made on the patient.
The person suffering from a concussion injury might feel confused and be unable to think clearly. They might be unable to recognize others or remember certain things. Emotionally, the patient might feel sad or depressed. They might become more emotional or anxious. Physically, the patient might experience nausea, dizziness, fuzzy vision, sensitivity to light and noise, and have balance problems. The patient might also feel lethargic and tired and sleep for a longer period of time.
